Nikol Margaryan

Research Programs Senior Analyst

Nikol Margaryan joined CRRC-Armenia in April 2022 as a Qualitative Senior Analyst. Since December 2023, he has been a Research Programs Senior Analyst involved in mixed methods research.

Nikol has about 35 years of experience in research and fieldwork․ He has participated in more than 100 research projects. In 2000, Nikol defended his doctoral thesis in ethnography (cultural anthropology) and received PhD degree. He is an author and co-author of 7 monographs, more than 80 articles and essays, which are concerning different aspects of science, education, culture, and public life. He supervised two doctoral dissertations which in cultural studies.

During 2005-2018, Nikol developed and delivered university courses for BA (“Culture in Human and Social Sciencies”, “Sociology of Culture”, “Globalization and Culture”, “Gender and Culture”) and MA (“Applied Anthropology”, “Intercultural Comunication Issues”) students at YSU.

He is an Associate Professor at YSU. In 2013-2015 as a National Editor, he participated in developing a textbook for students and guide for teachers, organized by EUOROCLIO and entitled “Crossroad of Cultures: The Countries of the Black Sea Region and Socio-Political Processes in the 19th-20th Centuries.”.
