Louise Amoris is a PhD Fellow at Ghent University, Sorbonne Nouvelle University and at the United Nations University – Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS). Her research examines the agency of the countries from the shared neighbourhood in-between the EU and Russia. It focuses on the extent to which being in-between can be studied as a source of agency towards change in the regional orderings established by the regional cores. In this framework, Armenia’s case is considered of particular interest considering its specific geopolitical position. By analysing Armenia’s identity and foreign policy discourses, the aims are to identify its changing perceptions of both the EU and Russia and of its own positioning and role in its regional environment.
