Madhur Wale

Madhur Wale, originally from Nashik, India, first developed an interest in the South Caucasus during her time studying at United World College Dilijan in Armenia. She is currently an undergraduate at Wellesley College in Massachusetts, where she is pursuing a double major in Anthropology and Cinema and Media Studies. As part of her degree, she will be spending the next year at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Prior to joining CRRC Armenia, she worked on a collaborative project between MIT Development Lab and Ashesi University on financial inclusion tools in the informal sector. She has also worked as an intern at Africa Humanitarian Action, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Her academic interests include the place of media interventions in development initiatives, the continuing relevance of national media systems in an age of globalization, and past and present cinematic exchanges between South Asia and the (former) Soviet Union.
