Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC)-Armenia Foundation is an independent, non-partisan, non-religious and regionally focused research institution, where research lives, connects, and inspires change. Established in 2003 as part of the regional CRRC network, the Foundation has become one of Armenia’s most trusted and recognized voices in the field of social science research.
Our core mandate is to address national and regional socio-economic and political challenges through high-quality data collection, rigorous analysis, and the continuous enhancement of research capacity. We combine the principles of academic excellence with practical impact, producing open and accessible data, policy-relevant insights, and high-standard scientific outputs.
As both a research and resource hub, the Foundation provides scholars, policymakers, and the public with free access to datasets, research reports, and policy briefs. The Foundation’s ecosystem extends beyond data: it includes methodological and technical capacity building, community building, idea generation, and a specialized library with over 2,000 publications in the social sciences and humanities.
At its core, CRRC-Armenia strives to promote a culture of transparent, ethical, and innovative research, advancing knowledge-based governance and strengthening the role of social science in democratic transformation across Armenia and the wider Caucasus region.

The Caucasus Research Resource Centers (CRRC) form a regional network of research, resource, and training hubs established in 2003 in the capital cities of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The network was created with the mission of strengthening social science research and public policy analysis across the South Caucasus. CRRC was founded with the financial support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. In 2013, CRRC-Armenia was registered as an independent non-commercial legal entity (Foundation), while maintaining the same goals, objectives, and enduring commitment to regional cooperation.
With over 23 years of experience, the Foundation provides researchers, governments, donors, NGOs, private sector actors, and the general public with reliable data and rigorous analysis of critical trends shaping Armenia and the broader region. Our work spans research, community building, capacity development, and insight generation, anchored in tested methodologies and grounded in social relevance.
Over more than two decades of operation, CRRC-Armenia Foundation has implemented 150+ research and capacity-building projects, generating over 500 GB of datasets and significantly contributing to Armenia’s evidence-based policy landscape. The Foundation has engaged more than 300 fellows, scholars, interns, and volunteers, providing opportunities for upskilling, networking, and knowledge exchange. Our impact extends across a wide range of thematic areas, including education, health and well-being, gender and sexuality, governance and public policy, economy and migration, peace and conflict, youth, culture and identity, environment and space, technology, social protection and welfare, development, media and communications.
As of 2025, the Foundation stands as a cornerstone of social science research and research capacity building in Armenia, and a leading regional institution advancing evidence-based knowledge across the South Caucasus. CRRC-Armenia’s institutional sustainability and resilience towards the constantly reshaping funding landscape, are a testament to the trust placed in it by donors and partners, as well as its ability to adapt, innovate, and learn amid shifting contexts. The Foundation’s independence, commitment to democratic values, highly ethical conduct, and transparent governance, backed by a smart process management architecture, reinforce our importance in an era of turbulence and shrinking civic space, where the voice of independent research has never been more vital.
