OVERVIEW
This
training course aims to introduce R statistical programming language for Data
Analysts. By the end of the course, participants are expected to be comfortable
with reading, manipulating and transforming datasets in R, conduct descriptive
analytics, create visualizations and perform statistical modeling. It will
consist of two-day interactive sessions with a closing check-up test in the
end.
Day 1: Working
with data in R
- Introduction and overview
- Data types and structures
- Reading and writing data with R
- Data manipulation and transformation
Day 2: Statistical
modeling in R
- Descriptive analytics and visualization
- Testing and inference
- Regression and classification analysis
- Check-up test
TARGET GROUP
The training course is addressed to PhD
students, junior researchers and young professionals who are interested in
applying statistical software for their research purposes. Preliminary
statistical skills are preferred but not required.
SHORT BIO
Hrant
Davtyan, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Data Science and Business Analytics
at the American University of Armenia. He has developed and is teaching courses
on Business Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Scraping. Mr. Davtyan is
also providing consultancy on Statistics and conducts research on the
applications of Machine Learning in Business and Economics.
